Thomas LaMarre (McGill University), Megan Ankerson (University of Michigan), and Lisa Nakamura (University of Michigan) explored the conjunction of technology, history, and art, at the Eisenberg Institute's January 16 seminar, "From Cyberspace to Mobile Phones: A History of Expanded Television." Leslie Pincus (University of Michigan) chaired the discussion, which included brief remarks from the panelists and an extended question-and-answer session with the audience. Professor LaMarre returned on January 17 for the workshop, "One Frame at a Time: Decoding Anime."

The events continued the Institute's 2013-15 theme, "Materials of History." Both are available online as MP3 audio files and are accessible for University of Michigan account holders (link here for seminar; link here for workshop).
