The Eisenberg Institute will offer fellowship opportunities for University of Michigan Department of History faculty, graduate students, and recent PhDs for the 2017-18 academic year.

Deadlines and notification vary according to fellowship type. Categories include:

  • Faculty Fellowships: Release from teaching one Department of History course along with a $5,000 research grant; up to three fellows. Applications due February 6, 2017.
  • Graduate Student Research Fellowships: $5,000 research grant; up to six fellows. Applications due March 10, 2017.
  • Postdoctoral Fellowship: $49,500 salary, full benefits, and $2,000 research fund; includes two-course teaching obligation; one fellow. Applications due March 31, 2017.

All fellows are expected to actively participate in Institute programs and events. The institute's fellowship programs have been made possible by a generous contribution from Kenneth and Frances Aftel Eisenberg.
