Dr. Janzen is a leader in conservation ecology, a world-level authority on the biology of tropical caterpillars, and is the president of the Guanacaste Dry Forest Conservation Fund. He and Dr. Hallwachs are co-creators and co-architects of the National Biodiversity Institute of Costa Rica. The inaugural lecture of this series honors famous Michigan-trained wildlife biologist, Olaus Murie, and is in partnership with the School of Natural Resources and Environment.
