Interim Electron Microbeam Analysis Laboratory Specialist

The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences invites applications for an interim laboratory specialist for the Electron Microbeam Analysis Laboratory (EMAL). The position has an anticipated start date of May 15, 2017. The successful applicant may choose to be interviewed for the permanent position, which will be either 100% staff, requiring at minimum a BS degree, or a combination 75% staff and 25% research scientist, requiring a PhD degree. The interim position is 100% staff, requiring at minimum a BS degree, and applicants with MS and PhD degrees are strongly encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will manage the highly productive central campus EMAL facility of the University of Michigan. Major instruments in the laboratory include: electron microprobe, FE-SEM, and XRDs. Duration of appointment will be determined by the needs of the applicant and laboratory.
