12 Years a Slave Roundtable Film Discussion

A panel of University of Michigan faculty will discuss the implications of the recently released film 12 Years a Slave, by director Steve McQueen. The release of this cinematic adaptation of the 1853 narrative by Solomon Northup presents a unique opportunity to discuss depictions of American slavery in popular media from a variety of disciplinary perspectives.
