Nathan Seegert is an assistant professor in the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. He received his Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan where he was an NSF IGERT scholar with Complex Systems. At the University of Utah he teaches business economics, exposing students to concepts of markets, their interactions with government, and the ensuing complexities.

Nathan researches public policies of city growth, state and local taxation, corporate finance, and the efficient division of the public and private sectors. His focus within these topics is how public policy can increase efficiency within the economy; from creating the correct incentives to promote city growth to determining the efficient portfolio of taxes state governments should hold to best share risk between the government and its citizens.
