Conference in the Wolverine Room, Michigan Union (8:30-5pm) Organized at Michigan State University (Oct 29) and at the University of Michigan (Oct 30), this conference provides a comparative perspective on critical theory concerning cultural production in Africa. Specialists from diverse disciplines and fields within African studies provide a comparative perspective on cutural production across borders, inside and outside the continent, and probe the limits and possibilities of new approaches to global economy. Speakers include Maria Brewer, Magali Compan-Banard, Mandy Davis, Frieda Ekotto, Nathalie Etoke, Lindsey Green-Simms, Chalres Gueboguo, Adleine Koh, Leonora Miano, Tejumola Olaniyan, Marie Stoll, Soraya Tlatli and Patrick Tonks.
