All new users of the nanoIR2 must complete training before being checked out to use the instrument. We offer four levels of training.

• Training #1: basic instrument operation: contact topographic imaging, spectra acquisition
• Training #2: Combined tapping and contact AFM-IR (tapping mode imaging and spectra acquisition)
• Training #3: Additional AFM-IR functionality – Arrays (points/lines/grids), IR imaging, stiffness mapping
• Training #4: Tapping mode AFM (higher resolution, no IR, tapping mode only tip)

Training #1 must be completed first. Trainings #2, #3, and #4 may be completed in any order after Training #1.

Reserve a time using the Google Calendar once you have been cleared to use the instrument. Please limit reservations to 10 days in advance and 4 hour time blocks. Let us know if you need more time, and we can work on the scheduling to accommodate longer reservation blocks.
