BLI Small Grants - 2017-2018 Academic Year
BLI Small Grants are intended to (1) stimulate learning about leadership through practice, (2) encourage and support student initiative, and (3) seed innovative projects that will contribute to the Institute, campus community, and/or society.
With a rolling application deadline and speedy review process, small grants give BLI members the opportunity to receive up to $200 to support short-term projects or events. Funds may be used to support individual or student organization initiatives. Applications received before Wednesday at midnight will receive a response the following Wednesday.
Leadership for Peace
Small Grant applicants may apply for up to $100 of additional funding through the Leadership for Peace Initiative. The BLI Leadership for Peace Initiative aims to cultivate active citizens of the world who can utilize research and critical thinking skills to engage with different cultural perspectives and make a positive impact in the global community.
The BLI Small Grant is available to all BLI Members, Fellows and Advanced Fellows.
A student may only apply for one BLI Small Grant per semester.
We dissuade teams from applying for multiple grants for the same project. We encourage students with large projects to apply for the Student Project Grant ($1500). However, it is permissible to apply more than one Small Grant to a project if the funds are used for different aspects of the project.
