Biology honors graduate Eileen Brandes,  also an Academic All-American star on the University of Michigan Field Hockey team in 2011, is profiled on sports website MGoBlue!

A biology major as an undergraduate, Eileen conducted research in MCDB Associate Professor Lyle Simmons' lab and was named the 2011-2012 winner of the Christine Psujek Memorial Award for the best honors thesis in any of the Program in Biology majors.  Eileen was also the 2011-2012 winner of the Marshall Nirenberg Award in Life Sciences from the Honors College. 

Eileen is now a medical student at Harvard Medical School.
