What? The Hertz Fellowship provides support for 5 years of graduate study ($32,000/9-month stipend) leading to a Ph.D. in the applied physical, biological, and engineering sciences.
Who Should be Interested? Students of the applied physical and biological sciences, mathematics, and engineering. College seniors wishing to pursue a PhD degree in their field of interested, as well as graduate students already in the process of doing so. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents and fellowship recipients should be willing to make their skills available to the United States in time of a national emergency. Deadline? The national deadline to apply is October 24th. U-M nomination is not required for this fellowship.
