Medical Equity is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that seeks to raise awareness about health disparities and promote health equity. We will be holding our third annual Health Equity Research Conference on Sunday, April 14th 2019 at Wayne State University in the Student Center Building. Conference highlights include a keynote address, panel discussion, oral and poster presentations, and an exhibition. Breakfast and lunch are included with registration.
We will be joined by esteemed guests including our keynote speaker, Rhodes Scholar and former Health Director of Detroit, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, M.D., Ph.D.
We would love for you and your student researchers to present at our conference! Researchers can either choose a poster presentation or an oral presentation, but only some will be granted an oral presentation. If you are not selected for an oral presentation, you can still deliver a poster presentation. Preference will be given to abstracts that focus on improving health disparities and promoting health equity but other topics in public health are accepted. Cash awards will be awarded to the top presenters in both oral and poster sessions.
Abstracts can be pertaining to the following fields:
- Clinical Sciences
- Social and Behavioral Sciences
- Biomedical sciences
- Environmental sciences
- Life Sciences
- Policy and public health
You can submit your abstract and register, here. Registration is $15.
We also welcome departments, research labs, and graduate programs to register as exhibitors at the conference! You can register and find out more information, here.
