Ohio State University's Stone Laboratory

Stone Laboratory, The Ohio State University’s Island Campus on Lake Erie, offers 25 one- and five-week summer science courses to students from any university or college.

Your students can study organisms in their natural habitats, build upon their field experience, or even conduct cutting-edge research. Both introductory and upper level classes are offered, and your students can earn up to four credit hours for a five-week course--transferable back to any university.

Your science majors can apply for the five-week Research Experience for Undergraduates, during which they'll conduct a research project under the guidance of a Lake Erie scientist. Deadline for a REU scholarship is February 20.

Most students are eligible for scholarships, and students taking five-week courses can apply for part-time positions at the lab. The deadline for scholarships is March 6.

Questions? You can email us at stonelab@osu.edu, or call the Stone Lab Columbus office at 614-292-8949. Students can apply today.
