U-M Astronomy Professor Jon Miller has been appointed as a Co-Chair for NASA's Athena Study Team.

The Athena Study Team will guide and oversee US scientific community inputs into the European Space Agency's Athena mission, a large X-ray telescope that will launch in 2028.  It will carry two major instruments, a Wide Field Imager (WFI) and an imaging calorimeter called the X-ray Integral Field Unit (XIFU).

Jon is also a member of the XIFU science team.
