Roxanna Duntley-Matos

The Hispanic Latino Commission of announced the Michigan Latina’s were recognized at the Statewide Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations on Friday, October 12, 2018, for the first time at the Horizons Conference Center in Saginaw, Michigan. For the first time ever, HLCOM will honor the Top 50 Latinas of Michigan. The purpose of the “2018 Top Latinas in Michigan” award is to recognize an individual woman who has distinguished herself in their organization, her profession, and her community.

The recipient of the Top Latinas in Michigan for 2018 award epitomizes the values for which HLCOM stands and represents the best of who we are as Latinas and as leaders. For their significant level of involvement in the activities, business, and professional growth with outstanding progress in their chosen career. These women have a demonstrated commitment to their community by sharing of their time and talent in ways that benefit the community. These women have also had a commitment to lifelong learning and expansion of their own personal and professional resources. Nominations for this
recognition came from individuals across the state.

Roxanna Duntley-Matos was nominated by Flint Community Leaders for her community-engaged scholarship co-authored with them during the lead crisis as well as for her leadership in the humanitarian musical missions with Puerto Rico and Mexico.
