Plurality of Love: Poetry and Art in the Works of Cuban book artist Rolando Estévez

Rolando Estévez, who will be presenting a lecture on his work on Wednesday, September 30th, 4-6pm at the Gallery of the Hatcher Graduate Library. At the lecture he will share his newest handmade books and discuss the changing panorama for writers and artists in contemporary Cuba.

Start with a half-hour traditional social and cultural Cuban experience, the cafecito: coffee, treats, and conversation. Join in discussion about Rolando Estévez's books and art with the artist himself and Ruth Behar, Victor Haim Perera Collegiate Professor of Anthropology at U-M. At 4:30pm, Behar and Estévez will speak about his current work as an independent bookmaker and how the arts are evolving in Cuba.

Allow time to view the exhibit The Plurality of Love: Poetry and Art in the Works of Cuban Artist Rolando Estévez in the Audubon Room adjacent to the Gallery.
