Applicant Checklist

APPLICATION DEADLINE: December 15th

• The APPLICANT is responsible for the completed application.

• ALL application materials should be submitted online.

• ALL letters of recommendation should be submitted through our online application system. Letters of recommendation should not be mailed to Rackham.

• Please have your official transcripts submitted online to Rackham. Online submissions are preferred.

• Please contact ETS several weeks before the application deadline and request that an official report of your GRE/TOEFL scores be sent to the Department of Anthropology.

GRE: Institution code 1839, Department code 1701. TOEFL: Institution code 1839, Department code 81. (Even if the department code cannot be entered, entering the institution code will ensure receipt of your transcripts by Rackham.)

† Scan the front and back of your transcripts and upload it with your online application. Official transcripts, from every institution where you have received a Bachelor’s degree or higher, must be provided to Rackham.

International applicants: If you are an international student, please upload English translations as well. International students must submit official transcripts by the application deadline to ensure timely processing of your application.

Domestic applicants: Domestic applicants can submit final official transcripts with your graduate application OR after you are recommended for admission. Although official transcripts are preferred, unofficial transcripts can be uploaded with your application. This is only for domestic applicants. If you do not submit a final official transcript with your grad application, you will be required to submit it to Rackham Graduate School if you are recommended for admission.
