Access to the LSA Student Advising File
Step 1: Getting Access to the Advising File
Have your department administrator or advising support staff e-mail our Advising File Support Group at firstname.lastname@example.org so that you can be added to the access group.
Faculty and professional staff advisors can get access to the Student Advising File, as well as student services support staff and GSIs who are department advisors. However, GSIs will not have access to the Transcripts or Audit Checklists pages within the Advising File. Undergraduate peer advisors will not get access to the Advising File.
Step 2: Access and Compliance Agreement for the Student Advising File
In order to be granted access to the Student Advising File, you must first agree to proper use of the information. Advisors should read the Access and Compliance Agreement.
You will be notified via email as soon as your access has been approved.
Step 3: Get Access to the M-Pathways Student Records data
Once your access to the Student Advising File is approved, a request for access to MPathways Student Records data will need to submitted in order for you to be able to run transcripts and audit checklists either within the Advising File or in Wolverine Access.
Step 4: Access and Compliance Agreement for M-Pathways Access
In order to be granted access to the confidential Student Records data, you must first agree to proper use of the information. Go to Wolverine Access. Once there, under the heading Faculty and Staff, click on University Business. At the next page at the bottom click on Access and Compliance. Read the policy then electronically submit the Access and Compliance form to ITS.
Step 5: Accessing the Student Advising File
Sign into the file through a recent version of Internet Explorer, Safari, Chrome or Firefox.
Use your U-M uniqname and UMICH password.
Step 6: Get Training
Visit the Training section of the Advisor Portal
Access to the LSA Advisor Handbook (Sharepoint)

Access to the LSA Advising Appointment System
Have your department advising support staff e-mail our Advising File Access Support Group at firstname.lastname@example.org to request staff and/or advisor-level access to the Advising Appointment system.
