Advising

Our advisors help students investigate courses of study and to declare and complete majors and minors in American Culture and our Ethnic Studies units.

Once you have declared a program of study in our department, we recommend that you meet with your advisor at least once a year to go over your individual course selections and ensure you will meet the program requirements.

You should also communicate with an advisor about any transfer credit questions.

To support the University of Michigan's efforts to help minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, all meetings with our advisors will be virtual or via telephone until the university returns to regular operation. When you schedule your appointment through the link below, you will be able to specify a preferred format for your meeting. Please provide any required information. If you are unable to keep your appointment time, please cancel your appointment using this system.

Please note that American Culture does not schedule regular advising meeting times over the Spring & Summer Terms, but we are still happy to answer your advising questions! Please email us at ac.ug.services@umich.edu.
