Graduate students are an integral component of the Digital Studies Institute. Each semester, our graduate students participate in workshops, research, and graduate-level seminars with accomplished and engaged faculty recognized internationally for their scholarship and contributions to the field. Covering a range of interdisciplinary topics considering issues in gaming, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, race, ethics, digital inequality, infrastructure, and more, graduate students pursue critical inquiries into the current and systemic problems that permeate our digital tools, applications, and environments.

Beyond Digital Studies courses and programming, University of Michigan doctoral students may expand their doctoral training with the Digital Studies Graduate Certificate Program.
