The Digital Studies Institute is a robust intellectual community where faculty and students work across interdisciplinary lines.
Our 80 governing and affiliate faculty members, hail from 28 of the University of Michigan’s departments and professional schools. Our faculty’s research and creative praxis asks questions regarding technology, digital culture, and social justice through a number of fields of study.

The DSI is also home to the Mellon-funded DISCO Network Research Initiative, a multi-campus research network with labs at Georgia Tech University, Purdue University, University of Maryland-College Park, and Stony Brook University.
