New York, NY – 1 December 2015 – The Modern Language Association of America today announced it is awarding its twenty-third annual Aldo and Jeanne Scaglione Prize for Comparative Literary Studies to Silke-Maria Weineck, of the University of Michigan, for her book The Tragedy of Fatherhood: King Laius and the Politics of Paternity in the West, published by Bloomsbury.  The prize is awarded annually for an outstanding scholarly work that is written by a member of the association and that involves at least two literatures.
