Many Communication and Media majors choose to conduct reasearch in collaboration with our faculty at some point. On our annual Undergraduate Research Day we recognize the work of our undergraduate researchers and their advisors. This year's UG Reasearch Showcase will be held virtually.
What is it?
The COMM and MEDIA undergraduate research showcase is our annual celebration of the work of undergraduate researchers and teams in the Department.
How does it work?
The virtual research showcase consists of a user-friendly online platform hosting electronic posters, multimedia files, and video testimonials from student researchers. Visitors can explore the showcase and post questions/comments about the projects for researchers. A panel of judges will also be visiting the salon to issue “Distinction in Research” awards based on Engagement, Content, and Design of presentations.
How do I participate?
If you are a student, contact your professor and firstname.lastname@example.org to register interest.
What kinds of materials can be submitted to the salon?
Traditional posters are welcomed, as well as other deliverables (data visualizations, podcasts) that illustrate the kinds of original research happening at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Poster presenters are strongly encouraged to include a brief 2-3 minute video recording introducing your project and describing something interesting/provocative that you learned from doing it.
Thursday, April 8th 5 PM: Deadline to submit poster/media files for check review
Monday, April 12th: Hard cut-off for submitted material for the salon
Friday, April 16th: Virtual Research Showcase goes LIVE 11:00 a.m.- 2 p.m.
LIVE Awards Ceremony Announcement in the salon at 2 PM
