"During one of my Communication and Media advising appointments sophomore year, I was advised to consider studying abroad. At this time I had not thought a semester abroad was an option for me, for both financial and academic reasons. However, after continuing to check in with the advisor, she gave me both the resources and confidence that I needed to take the leap and send in my application. I ended up studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence, France during the Winter 2020 semester. While abroad I had the opportunity to make lifelong friends from other universities, explore Paris, participate in unique French classes, and live with a local French host family. Even while my abroad experience ending up getting cut short by the pandemic, I wouldn't take it back. If it weren't for my fabulous Communication and Media advisor, Sofia Carlson, I would have never even considered this experience. "

Future Plans: After graduation in May, I am planning on starting a career in the retail industry as a corporate marketing assistant. Pandemic permitting, I am hoping to eventually move to the west coast and continue to grow my passion for the health and wellness industry. My major in Communication and Media has given me invaluable skills that I have no doubt will support me throughout my career.
