Alexis McCarroll received her B.A. and M.A. in Media and Information from Michigan State University. During her time at MSU, her research focused on a.) attitudes toward adoption of mHealth apps and b.) technology overuse and problematic social media use. Her Master's thesis explored the relationship between technology overuse and psychological well-being among emerging adult college students.
Her current research interests remain centered on the relationship between digital media and well-being among emerging adults. Specifically, she is interested in how to best define and operationalize comfort as it relates to media use. In addition, her research examines the psychological and physiological gratifications that fall within the domain of media-related comfort.
