Tell us about your Mini Internship experience:
Earlier this fall, I decided to apply to a "Mini Internship Experience" through the Comm Department. I was hoping for the opportunity to attend the Atlantic Festival in Washington, D.C. for a few days in October as a student volunteer. I was accepted and flew to D.C. with a few fellow students also studying communications, and we oversaw registration and Q&A sessions while representing the University of Michigan. It was an opportunity to network and meet a range of professionals in the media industry, and I was inspired by the Festival's aim of inspiring social responsibility, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement. I left with renewed motivation in my career search and an appreciation for the Atlantic publication and all that it stands for. Plus I got to see Hillary Clinton speak in person!
What are you future plans and goals?
I aim to pursue opportunities in public affairs or media strategy upon graduation, with an interest in further developing my business skills.
