About
Emily completed her B.A. in Classics and Anthropology in 2013, and her M.A. in Classics in 2015. Her MA thesis, "The Ideal Roman Daughter through the Life Course," reflects her interest in Roman social history, with a special focus on gender and Roman family studies. This interest has continued into her doctoral dissertation, “Disability in the Roman Familia”, which explores dynamics of disability in the context of idealized household relationships.
At this time, she is the 2021–2 Connie and Marc Jacobson Graduate Fellow at the Institute for the Humanities. For further information on her current project, see: https://lsa.umich.edu/humanities/people/2021-22-fellows/lamondea.html
