28. You accompany the legionary around Carthage and back to his lodging at a local inn (taberna). You enter the inn and notice a gaggle of legionaries (legionarii) celebrating their precious time off.

30. You spend the evening with the legionaries and find them so interesting. You keep asking them about their lives and adventures and you find yourself wishing you could write it all down. Then it occurs to you - you want to be a travel writer (scriba) for the army! You decide to follow Legio III Augusta back to Lambaesis and accompany them on their adventures for the remainder of your days.
30. Throughout the long night of merrymaking, many of the legionaries mention that they are in need of new recruits (tirones) and were hoping to find some in Carthage. You ponder this for some time and realize that YOU want to be a recruit! You spend the night in the inn and accompany Legio III Augusta back to Lambaesis, where you will begin your new life as a legionary!
