My time in London has made me see the world with a new perspective. There is so much that I don’t know about that I haven’t seen, and being able to meet new people and explore new places has really broadened my horizons. For the first time, I am considering moving abroad after I graduate and starting my career in a new country. I am so grateful to have been given the opportunity of a lifetime.

One thing that really impacted my time abroad was my economic status. I come from a lower/working class background, and a lot of the things that my peers could easily afford, I could not. Europe is very expensive, London especially. And we were not allotted any funds for meals, so I really had to be careful with how much I was spending.

I’ve always had to be frugal with my money, but being in London was especially difficult since I obviously wasn’t making any money while I was there like I could at home or at school. Budgeting became a big part of my routine, and sticking to it could be really hard due to all of the things we wanted to do while abroad. Overall I did fairly well with managing my money, but it was definitely a struggle.
