The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and the Rowett Institute are located on a clinical site appended to one of the largest hospital/university complexes in Europe. At the University of Aberdeen, one of the six “ancient” universities of Britain, students will work alongside world-class research groups to learn current research techniques and conduct independent research alongside faculty mentors. Dedicated projects for students may include: cell biology, developmental biology, cancer biology, molecular biology, microbiology, and pharmacology. This program is particularly valuable to students interested in a medical career. Staff at the Scotland program center coordinate opportunities for students to enjoy the local culture in Aberdeen and beyond.
