Barcelona is a coastal city and the culture definitely reflects this. Explore the food, arts and architecture that make this city so unique. Gaudi and his impressive architecture can be felt throughout the city in the La Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell. Their laid back culture can be experienced with a siesta, and food culture features tapas and paella. The Barcelona School for International Studies (SIS) boasts the best local and
international professors while maintaining small class sizes. Each course includes a variety of field studies, museum visits, and guided reflection. There will be several day trips and weekend excursions outside of Barcelona to enhance classroom materials. Students can also experience more of the Spanish culture by participating in activities such as cooking classes and barrio tours. Note: This program is not approved for Spanish majors or minors. The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures will not grant any credit towards a Spanish major/minor or fulfill Spanish language requirements.
