Take Italian 230 - a combination of Italian 231 and 232 - taught by a U-M instructor, and receive 8 credits to complete the LSA language requirement. Siena is a medieval city in the Tuscany region of Italy midway between Rome and Florence. A smaller city relatively unknown to tourists, it provides an ideal setting for Italian language and cultural immersion. Staying with a host family allows students to immerse themselves in Italian daily life. The Italian 230 in Siena program is packed with activities and excursions that allow students to practice their language skills and experience Italian culture in Siena and beyond. Examples include guided city tours, group dinners, pasta making, local festivals and parades, and day trips. This course is taught and led by U-M Italian Lecturer, Guglielmo Audiberti.
