CGIS is under construction!

Beginning now until the end of March, CGIS will be updating & restructuring our website in efforts to better support our students, staff, and faculty. As a way to make resources more accessible, you may notice a few changes along the way, but have no fear because this page will reflect all of the updates that are being made!

What you can expect from the updates

The University of Michigan is committed to providing equal access to information and services for all students, faculty, and staff, and CGIS will be ensuring our website is accessible to all U-M students. In the next few months, CGIS will be creating accessible content for students with disabilities. Should you require other accessibilities that go beyond what is provided, CGIS can work with you to provide resources that are custom to your needs.

CGIS recognizes that students have a lot to consider when choosing a study abroad destination. Whether you have concerns about your race & ethnicity, disabilities, sexual orientation, gender, religion, etc., CGIS is here to help you navigate your identities abroad. CGIS will also be implementing resources for non-traditional students seeking an international experience, such transfer students, veterans/active military, full-time working students, and more!

We want you to find a program that is the best fit for you, which means we want to be able to prepare you to the best of our ability. Whether it's providing location facts or access to CGIS Alumn who have participated in your program, we plan on integrating new tools into each program page that can assist you in your research.

We are excited to bring new and improved resources that can better support students and their families as they discuss and research international education opportunities. More details to come!

CGIS is always looking for U-M faculty to lead programs abroad that discuss various topics while also providing students an enriching cultural experience, but we recognize that it's not easy balancing responsibilities such as grading, office hours, and independent research. CGIS will be updating and implementing new resources that will better assist faculty throughout the process. More details to come!

The Faculty & Partner page has changed!
Faculty & partners can now find a more condensed version of what used to exist on the Faculty & Partners page. We eliminated some redundancies on our end and will continue to do so over the next few months. When filling out the faculty proposal application, you will find that all 5 forms that used to exist as completely separate files have all be condensed into one file as well!
