The Penny W. Stamps School of Art & Design offers four innovative, media-rich and intellectually-challenging degrees: Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Bachelor of Arts (BA), BFA in Interarts Performance and the Joint Degree with LSA. Each degree program integrates traditional techniques with contemporary technologies and provides opportunities for exhibition, community engagement and international experience. The minor in art and design is open to students in all undergraduate programs, including LSA.

During fall and winter academic terms, Stamps offers studio courses designated for non-majors, some on Central Campus, some in the Stamps facilities on North Campus. Spring term options are more limited. Stamps non-major courses (ARTDES 170 - 182) are open to all undergraduates, and for these courses there are no waitlists or overrides. Instead, it is recommended that if a course is full, the student should attend the first day of class and speak to the instructor to determine whether or not there will be a space available in the class. Spaces in Stamps major courses are made available to non-major registration after the last day of scheduled appointments for Wolverine Access early registration. Students may request an override in advance of this date by going to http://stamps.umich.edu/courses
