Description

We will work toward an understanding of the ways structural racial inequities influence the study and practice of mechanical engineering. Students will consider the historical and contemporary context of mechanical engineering in regards to racial injustice, namely, the impacts of designed systems, processes, and products that shape our human relations. We will use case studies to examine racial injustice in educational preparation, recognition of ingenuity, and development of capital.
