Description

This is an entry-level Ukrainian language course designed for students with no previous language experience or those who have not formally studied the structural grammar of the language. The goal of this course is the acquisition of a solid basic understanding of the Ukrainian language structure as well as functional development of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills.

The course progresses mainly through communication activities, with the gradual introduction of conceptual and functional linguistic elements. Lessons are enhanced with Ukrainian cultural elements and include poems, songs, films, cartoons, etc.

Scholarships are available for Ukrainian students who take two consecutive terms of Ukrainian language; more information is available on the Ukrainian scholarship webpage: lsa.umich.edu/slavic/undergraduate-students/scholarships/ukrainian-scholarship.
