Description

This course is designed to address two seminal questions in Political Science concerning identity [and] politics: 1) What is identity; and 2) Why does it matter? In other words, how do identities form, when do they become politically salient, and under what conditions do they have a political impact? It is one of the proseminar modules in comparative politics that is designed to prepare PhD students in Political Science for the qualifying exam in comparative politics. Students from other subfields who are interested in identity politics are more than welcome and encouraged to enroll.
