Students should have knowledge of physical chemistry and biochemistry, as covered in the curriculia of: CHEM 230 or CHEM 260 or BIOPHYS 370; CHEM 351, MCDB 310 or BIOLCHEM 415.

This course counts toward the 60 credits of math/science required for a Bachelor of Science degree.

Description

This course focuses on an in-depth treatment of topics including secondary and tertiary structures of biological macromolecules including proteins, DNA, and RNA, folding and misfolding of proteins, ensemble and single-molecule kinetics, protein-protein interactions, protein-ligand interactions, and biochemistry of cellular processes.
