Description

With the potential to help understand human genetic variation and achieve personalized medicine, genomics is advancing rapidly to the forefront of modern biology. In this course, students will be introduced to the basic methodologies and research studies encompassed within the broad field of genomics. In particular, students will investigate the methods used to sequence genomes as well as methods currently being developed to analyze gene and protein function on a large scale across a diverse spectrum of eukaryotes. In-class problem solving and active learning approaches will be emphasized in this course.
