POLISH 491 is the first half of the year-long Honors course.
During POLISH 491 (the first half of the year-long Honors course) the student begins work on a thesis of fifty to one hundred pages on a topic in literary, cultural, or linguistic studies, producing a first draft of a portion of the thesis. Regular meetings with supervisor, participation in informal seminars, and successful submission of thesis lead to the award of an Honors degree in Polish. An oral defense may be required.
Course Requirements:
Regular meetings with supervisor, participation in informal seminars, and successful submission of thesis. Oral defense may be required for completion. Final thesis will be evaluated based on whether research objectives were adequately met.
