This course is designed for heritage speakers of Chinese (through the family background or personal experience) with high proficiency in listening to an everyday conversation and speaking about daily life, but limited ability to read or write.
The focus of this course will be on improving students' reading and writing skills while students' oral/aural skills will also be practiced.
Course Requirements:
Coursework will be graded on the basis of class performance and attendance, quizzes, tests, homework assignments, essays, and a final exam.
Intended Audience:
This course is for heritage speakers only. Students must take a placement exam in order to enroll. Information about the Chinese Placement Exam can be found on the ALC website.
Class Format:
As a DC (Distance due to COVID) course, all aspects of this course will be fully compatible with remote online learning, however, students will need to be available for virtual class meetings at their scheduled time.
