Beginning Chinese is taught in this class at a faster pace. It begins with a brief review of Pinyin and then moves into simple daily conversations on such topics as greetings, introducing oneself and family, hobbies, shopping, college life, and transportation. Students will gain some control of the Chinese sound system (especially the four tones), basic sentence patterns, basic audio comprehension skills, simple daily conversations, and character writing. About 350 characters are introduced.
Students successfully completing this course will continue on into ASIANLAN 102.
