Once students apply they enter the first phase of with the BLI and become members of our campus-wide community. Opportunities for members include:
In this 3-credit class, students will reflect on their leadership journey, begin to form a personal leadership philosophy and cultivate a holistic view of leadership.
In this 1-credit class, students work in small teams, receiving guidance from BLI staff and peer facilitators, as they work through idea generation and implementation on a project they’re passionate about.
Once students complete either of the above courses, they become Leadership Fellows, unlocking additional opportunities. Leadership Lab begins mid-semester, Fall and Winter semesters.
Events include a range of activities facilitated by BLI student-staff to engage members of the BLI community.
BLI Speaker Series offers an opportunity to explore the rich body of research about engaged leadership and to hear from faculty, organizational leaders and alumni who have worked to develop their own leadership capacity.
Leadership Lunches are once a month event that includes a variety of activities such as workshops, speakers, and conversations between current members, fellows, staff, and those interested in joining our community. Lunch is provided.
Other various volunteer opportunities, networking, and social outings are planned throughout the year.
Your one-stop-shop for all things BLI! As a member, you will receive a weekly newsletter designed to keep you up-to-date with the news, opportunities, and activities of the Institute. Other features include campus-wide leadership events listings and space for members to share out relevant updates and campus opportunities they are involved with.
