Program Structure

Are you interested in building your leadership skills?

The Barger Leadership Institute (BLI) is a student-powered, faculty-guided community dedicated to leadership learning through flexible programming that builds on your liberal arts education. Our program structure allows members to create their own pathway through the institute’s various opportunities and activities.

The Leadership Fellows program is the co-curricular core of the Barger Leadership Institute’s educational activities. We seek to engage students from any program on campus at every stage of their undergraduate careers in BLI activities. These activities are designed to inspire promising undergraduates to develop their knowledge and skills through rich experiences that they help to devise. The BLI is a campus-wide community of emerging student leaders and the program involves additional leadership and social activities designed by faculty, staff and students.

Students may enter the BLI community by becoming a member at any point in their undergraduate career. After you become a BLI member you must first enroll and complete our Leadership Lab, ALA 175. Once members complete the Leadership Lab, they can create their own pathway through our various funding and programming opportunities.

To become a member and receive permission to enroll in Leadership Lab, ALA 175, please complete the following form. Once you complete the form, you will be eligible to enroll in ALA 175 within 7-10 business days (spring/summer).
