There are various paid student leadership positions available within the BLI that allow students to practice leadership in the context of Institute programs:
Peer Facilitators (PFs): In this paid position, students facilitate the ALA 170 course that members must take in order to become Fellows. They participate in designing course content, lead discussions, answer any questions that groups may have, and offer support to student project teams.
Program Assistants (PAs): Program Assistants serve as a liaison between program staff and students, and ensure student-integration into almost all operational aspects of the BLI organization. PAs responsibilities include advising students, marketing and communications, and planning and executing community events.
BLI Fellows (those who have completed a Leadership Lab) are eligible to apply for the BLI student leadership positions. Applications for these positions are available throughout the year and are announced to the BLI community.
