Access Opportunities

In most stories of individual leadership development, there is a moment where someone — a mentor, a boss, or a friend — opens a door. We hope to give select Michigan students, our BLI Leadership Fellows, just these kinds of chances. Access to real, unvarnished examples of leadership allows students to begin to make sense of the complex tasks and skills contemporary leaders must bring to bear on the world.

With help from our alumni and community partners, we have curated high impact opportunities that allow our students to experience the reality of 21st-century leadership through intense, but often brief, chances to interact with and observe leadership in action.

BLI Access Opportunities offer exclusive, expense-paid occasions to meet esteemed alumni and changemakers here and across the globe. Opportunities might include a dinner in Ann Arbor with a BLI stakeholder for a chance to cultivate meaningful connections in an informal setting — a gathering at the DIA in Detroit for a behind the curtain view of a non-profit founder's servant-leader journey — or halfway around the globe at the Peace Culture Village in Hiroshima, Japan hearing hibakusha survivor stories.

Once students have completed the Leadership Lab and become BLI Fellows, they are eligible to apply for all Access Opportunities. Check back here for our next exciting opportunity!
