Work-Study & Non-Work-Study  Michigan Metabolomics & Obesity Center (MMOC)

Job Description:
Michigan Metabolomics and Obesity Center (mmoc.med.umich.edu) is seeking a candidate who will carry out in-vivo physiology/pharmacology experiments in rodent models of metabolic disorders. He/she will be responsible for evaluating metabolic phenotypes in these models, including assessment of whole body and organ insulin sensitivity using euglycemic- hyperinsulinemic clamp with 3H- and 14C- labeled tracers. This individual should have hands-on experience and expertise in in-vivo physiology/pharmacology and in the handling of rodents in particular, including microsurgery, and intravascular infusion in conscious mice and/or rats.

Job Requirements:
Majoring in physiology, pharmacology, molecular and cellular biology, or related disciplines. A
strong work ethic, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work with
minimal supervision in an organized fashion are essential. Ability to work collaboratively with
investigators in a multidisciplinary academic setting is critical.

Additional Information:
$10-$12/hour
