Finding Faint Objects in Our Solar System
Larissa uses the Dark Energy Camera on the Blanco 4m Telescope in Chile to look for faint objects in the Solar System. She finds the faintest objects by using the Shift and Stack technique to push the limits of the data. She is particularly interested in looking for Trojan Asteroids, but has also found various TNOs.
Characterizing Physical Properties of Trojan asteroids
Larissa uses ground-based telescopes, and JWST in the future, to observe and characterize the physical properties of Trojan asteroids (especially Neptune's) including their rotational period, color, and composition.
