The Department of Astronomy is excited to share that Dr. Renee Ludlam, a U-M Astronomy alumna (Ph.D. 2019), has been awarded the American Astronomical Society (AAS) 2021 High Energy Astrophysics Division (HEAD) Dissertation Prize. Dr. Ludlam received this prize for her dissertation titled "A Hard Look at Accretion Around Neutron Stars," which demonstrates how accretion disk reflection can be used to place limits on neutron star radii. She is currently serving as a NHFP/Einstein Fellow at the California Institute of Technology.

Congratulations to Dr. Ludlam for this distinguished recognition!
