What is Giving Blueday?

Giving Blueday is the University of Michigan’s annual day of giving. It is scheduled to coincide with Giving Tuesday – the global day of giving that follows Thanksgiving. On Giving Blueday (Tuesday, November 27th), the University of Michigan invites everyone who is passionate about Michigan to support what they love about the University by making a donation between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 p.m.

Why the Department of Astronomy?

This year, the Department of Astronomy is asking for your help as we continue to study the universe and embark on exciting new opportunities. Donations to the Department of Astronomy on Giving Blueday allow the Department to invest in opportunities that keep us at the forefront of astronomy research. Currently, the department is exploring many beneficial investments, including involvement in the future large optical/near-infrared telescope. Investments like these help us to advance astrophysical knowledge and garner a better understanding of other planets and galaxies in the universe.
